Iced Tea: The Perfect Refresher

It is these days when you wake up and it is already warm outside. The sun is up. The sky has a shiny blue. The day is full of promises. On such a day a freshly brewed Julius Meinl Iced Tea is your best companion. It is tasty and healthy – and the optimal refreshment for a hot summer’s day. We will explain you here how to brew the perfect glass of Iced Tea.

Fresh single portion:

1.  Choose your favourite!

You can choose any tea you like. We recommend black teas which have the classical refreshing tea taste and also fruit teas which bring a vivid color and chilling acidity.

2.  Be generous when dosing in the tea!

For two big glasses of Iced Tea dose in a bit more tea than you would normally need. So instead of 2 Julius Meinl Single Bags or Leaf Bags take 3 (so 1 for each glass and 1 extra). If you use Loose Leaf Tea take 3 teaspoonfuls.

3.  Steep the tea

Give the tea into a pitcher and infuse with 500ml of boiling water. Apply the normal steeping time (green tea: 3 minutes, black tea: 5 minutes, fruits and herbs: 10 minutes)

4.  Prepare the glasses

Decorate the glasses. Pour in fresh berries. Or slices of lemon and orange. Or add leaves of mint or basil or lemonbalm. Be creative! Fill up the glasses with icecubes.

5.  Add tea

When the tea has steeped pour the hot tea over the ice into the 2 glasses. In case you have used Loose Leaf Tea pour tea through a strainer.

6.  Customize

There are countless options how to make your glass of Iced Tea very special! You can add honey or sugar (better do this when the tea is still steeping). Or mix it with spirits. Or use syrups. Or juices.... We are 100% sure you will find your perfect Iced Tea match.

So – ENJOY!

Iced Tea – all day long

If you prepare Iced Tea for a party or for a long meeting there are some ways how to simplify the preparation. You do not have to cool down the Iced Tea using ice cubes – because they melt quite quickly. Instead, you can also prepare the tea and put it into the fridge. If you do this, always stick to the following rule (preparation of 1 litre of iced tea): You steep the tea with 250ml of water. And then, after the steeping time, you add 750ml of cold water. This way, you will have a room-temperature tea which you can still serve on ice, drink as it is or store in the fridge.
