The Originals Bio Fairtrade Range Receives Taste Award
We are proud to announce that all three blends from The Originals Bio Fairtrade Range have been honoured with the prestigious Superior Taste Award from the International Taste Institute, reaffirming our commitment to both outstanding flavour and sustainability.
The 2025 awards, judged by a panel of over 250 world-renowned chefs and sommeliers, recognise only the finest products globally for their sensory excellence. Thousands of products from around the world are blind-tasted and assessed on criteria such as first impression, olfaction, taste, and final sensation. Successfully awarded products (scoring above 70%) are then attributed one, two, or three stars based on their performance.
Gloriette Gold – ★★ (2 stars)
With a velvety mouthfeel and aromas of cacao-dusted desserts and nut-glazed pastries, this indulgent blend captures the essence of Viennese patisserie. Awarded 2 stars, it was recognised as an outstanding product, standing out for its exceptional taste in its category.
Belvedere Blend – ★ (1 star)
A creamy, well-balanced 100% Arabica blend with notes of toffee and hazelnut, complemented by a hint of red apple and a rich dark chocolate finish.
Danube Delight – ★ (1 star)
A bold, rich blend combining dark chocolate, nutmeg, and black pepper notes with an elegant roasted peanut finish.
A Commitment to Better Coffee – In Every Way
The company is proud that its entire The Originals Bio Fairtrade Range has been recognised with Superior Taste Awards, affirming the success of its most impactful launch since the line’s debut in 2022. Developed to appeal to a wide range of flavour preferences, the 3 blends reflect 160+ years and five generations of coffee expertise, rooted in craftsmanship and quality.
As the industry reaches a critical turning point where demand for high-quality coffee rises while production faces growing challenges, certified blends like The Originals play a vital role. They ensure coffee cooperatives receive fair compensation for their investment in sustainable farming, empowering reinvestment into farms, communities and the next generation of growers.
For Julius Meinl, this recognition reinforces the belief that great taste and responsible sourcing go hand in hand.

This reflects a wider shift in gastronomy, where drinks like coffee are becoming integral to the overall dining experience. For Julius Meinl, this trend underscores the importance of crafting premium coffees that deliver both taste and sophistication.
Coffee is no longer just a conclusion to a meal, it’s a defining element of modern gastronomic journeys. Julius Meinl’s commitment to quality aligns with this evolution, offering blends that stand alongside the finest culinary creations.
